The extraordinary vows of chastity, poverty (simplicity) and obedience are often referred to as the religious vows or evangelical counsels (CCC 925-927), which are taken by men and women who consecrates their life to God or in a process called profession. Seemingly, all are called to consecrate one’s life to our Father to live a life of holiness, regardless of a rite or ceremony. These vows should be roots of our personal commitment to a relationship with the Lord.
